Biographical Details
He is probably the Mr Sheehan, ‘an eminent stone-cutter’ whose death in Marlborough Street, Dublin on 16 June 1761 is recorded in Sleator’s Gazetteer (Strickland 2, 1913, 348-49). Potterton says that his monument to Gustavus Handcock shows that ‘the sculptor had little or no knowledge of tomb design’, though the architectural details are well carved (Potterton 1975, 78).
