Biographical Details
Son of a stoneware manufacturer, Adams ran a pottery firm in Burslem from 1769 and opened a factory at Greengates, Tunstall in 1779. His jasperware rivalled that of Josiah Wedgwood, and the relief subjects that appeared on ceramics from his factory were sometimes taken from the same sources.
