Biographical Details
He was the son of John Gilbert. In 1827 he advertised as sculptor and marble mason in Haymarket, Broad Street, Stamford, at which time he exhibited his copy of L F Roubiliac’s bust of Sir Isaac Newton (2) . He provided a polished marble slab for Apethorpe Hall, Northants in 1848.
