Biographical Details
In 1808 he provided a chimneypiece for the Marquess of Bute’s villa at Petersham, then being built under the direction of Robert Mylne (1). In the same year he received £113 for marble chimney-pieces for the Bank of England (2). Three years later he was one of the principal masons building Mr Coutts’s house in Stratton Street, Piccadilly (Coutts Bank Archives, cited by Gunnis 1968, 174).
