Biographical Details
He was paid £30 for carving the monument to Mrs Charles Fox in 1705 (1). He may have been related to ‘Mr John Goodfellow Stone Cutter or Mason at Sarum’ who appears to have assisted Grinling Gibbons with the monument to Lady Fox in the same church, receiving a payment in 1699 of £20 from Sir Stephen Fox ‘on acctt of makeing a Monument for my Lady Fox Deceased’. A mason called Goodfellow was also employed in building Kingston Lacy, Dorset, during the 1660s.
