Biographical Details
On 30 June 1760 Bayliss advertised in the Northampton Mercury that he had purchased the stock of the late Mr Ward, stonemason, at Ampthill, Beds and that he proposed to carry on business in that town, as well as continuing his existing business at Woburn. He was employed at Woburn Abbey from 1762 until his death in 1768 and was buried at Woburn. He was probably responsible for the monument to George Hadley, at Flitton, which is signed ‘Bayliss’.
