He was on the livery of the Masons’ Company as ‘Mason in Piccadilly’ c1740 (Masons’ Co, Assistants, fol 3). He, or another mason of the same name, served his apprenticehip under James Hardy, becoming free on 7 January 1742/3 (Masons' Co, Freemen, fol 41).
