Biographical Details
Beckham was chamberlain of the Joiners’ Guild in 1621 and warden in 1635. He carved his own monument in St Thomas, Salisbury, which is of wood and has a ‘primitively carved’ relief of the Resurrection (1). It is inscribed ‘Here under lyeth the Body of Humphry Beckham who died 2nd day of February Anno 1671 Aged 83 yrs. His own Worke’.
