Biographical Details
He was probably based in Aylsham, Norfolk. He is known only for one monument, a large wall tablet described by Gunnis as ‘an ambitious work, 9 ft high, with an urn surmounting a curved pediment and flaming lamps to left and right. The coat of arms at the base has elaborate mantling’ (2). A bill of 170s from Edmund Rush to a Mr Carey ‘for a Cornish at the front of his house’ (£4 5s) is likely to be from this sculptor.
