Biographical Details
He was described as ‘of St Bride’s, London, Carver, abt. 25’ in 1677 when he married Martha Garland (Lic Vic Gen, 18 Sept 1677). He was the father of Richard Van Spangen of Camberwell, and the carver John Van Spangen. He was buried at St Giles in the Fields on 20 January 1702, and in his will described himself as a carver of that parish. He left all his wordly goods to his wife, Martha (Wills and Probate, London Metropolitan Archives).
