Biographical Details
In 1695-96 he was paid £402 for stone work at the Trinity almshouses in Stepney (1). He was almost certainly responsible for some of the very fine stone carving there, but as Robert Jones was also employed as a carver it is difficult to know which of the shields of arms, swags of fruit and flowers, cartouches, drapery, foliage, lyres and rudders were carved by Wearing and which by Jones.
