Biographical Details
He was the son of Bartholomew Woolfe, of Bromley, Kent, a yeoman, and was apprenticed to John Palmer in 1668, becoming free in 1675. He later became one of the leading City masons and worked for several of the City Companies, including the Fishmongers, for whom he executed masonry work in 1717-18. He was again at Fishmongers’ Hall in 1720 when he was paid £5 10s. His executors received a further payment of £170 for the period 1720-21.
