Biographical Details
He was the master-mason in charge of rebuilding Thoresby Park, Notts, for the Duke of Kingston from 1766 to 1769 (Archives, Earl Manvers, Nottingham Univ library, 4420). The Hornby is a large architectural wall-tablet of marble and stone, with Doric pilasters supporting a plain pediment surmounted by an urn, while flaming lamps stand to left and right.
