Biographical Details
The name Yates recurs in records of the Masons’ Company. Joseph Yates bound Sepherus, son of Thomas Yates, citizen and mason, on 4 July 1717, and also Francis Thomas Yates of St Saviour, Southwark on 6 April 1722. A Joshua Yates, ‘mason in Mountague Court, Southwark’ was on a list of assistants and livery of the Masons’ Company, c1740 (Masons’ Co Assistants, fol 9).
