Biographical Details
An Italian sculptor, he worked for Massimiliano Soldani before setting up on his own. He operated on his own account by 1722, chiefly making plaster and bronze copies after the antique. One client was Lord George Parker, who was aware that Cipriani had assisted Soldani on earlier copies of the Venus and Faun made for the Duke of Marlborough. The sculptor's death in 1745 was noted in correspondence between Horace Mann and Horace Walpole.
