Potterton comments, ‘one would suspect that he was merely a mason-plasterer’ but for the fact that his monument to Rev Alexander Lamillière Snr has a ‘competently executed female figure in high relief mourning at an urn’ (2). A monument to Richard Musgrave (†1785) at Lismore may be Broad’s work and there are unsigned memorials in Cloyne Cathedral that are in his style.
