Biographical Details
He was the master-mason responsible for rebuilding Hillington Hall for Sir William Folkes, for a sum of £757 (inaccurately cited in GPC as Norwich Public Library Archives, 11672) (1, 2). He was listed in Pigot’s directory as at Tower Street in 1822, then in Chapel Street in 1830. In 1836 he was listed in White’s directory with a home at 23 Chapel Street, and another property in Norfolk Street. According to Craven’s directory he was still at the last address in 1856 (inf Jon Bayliss).
