Biographical Details	He was born on 16 December 1803, the third child of George Brown, an Ayrshire mason who moved to Bewdley, Worcs, to work with Telford on the construction of the Severn Bridge and later lived at Bridgnorth, Salop. The elder George and his sons John (1799-1874) and George worked as masons at Bridgnorth until 1840, when the younger George set up for himself at Kidderminster. He died there on 2 December 1877.
