Biographical Details
Brown, whose premises were at 58 Great Russell Street, showed at the Great Exhibition of 1851 (33). Many of his monuments and tablets are Gothic in style but some are classical, including that to Archibald Little, 1844, at Chipstead, Surrey, which has a relief of a mourning woman described by Gunnis as being ‘not unlike a minor work by Chantrey’ (22).
