Biographical Details	He was the son of Peter Allen and was apprenticed to his father in 1687, but did not become free until 1694, when his name appears in the general search of the Masons’ Company. Two more masons of that name are mentioned in the Company archives, one who was made free on 29 October 1679 by service to another mason of the same surname, and another who was made free by patrimony on 6 October 1726.
