Biographical Details
Little is known of Buchan’s life and career other than that he trained under William Mossman, 1837, and worked under John Mossman. Work by him is rare but distinguished. He died, obscure and in poverty, in London. Medallions after the Antique in the spandrels of Strathclyde House, 94 Elmbank Street, Glasgow are attributed to him by McKenzie.
