Biographical Details	Buxton entered the Royal Academy Schools on 20 January 1803. Four years later he was awarded a silver medal. In October 1820 The Times carried an advertisement for ‘all persons having claims on the estate of Joseph Buxton, late of Norton Street, Marylebone, sculptor, deceased’ (13 October 1820, 1, inf Jon Bayliss).
