Biographical Details
A monumental mason who signs a number of tablets. He was recorded at premises at 19 Winchester Place, Pentonville in 1822 (Pigot 1822, 153). Chadwick was the master-mason employed in building the Board of Trade Office in Whitehall in 1825, and the hospital of St Katherine, Regent's Park, in the following year. For his work on the latter he was paid more than £435 in 1829. In the Minute Books of the Commissioners for building new churches (Lambeth Palace Library), he is recorded as master mason for the building of St Peter, Walworth, 1823 -1825, and a church in Beckford Place, Newington.
