Biographical Details
Between 1726 and 1730 he and his partner, Joseph Wade, were responsible for a considerable amount of carving at Greenwich Palace (3-6). A carver called ‘Richard Chichley of Rochester,’ took Edward Batten of Chatham as an apprentice on 12 January 1744. It is possible that this may be a relative.
