Biographical Details
Cleere was paid £35 in 1669 for carving at Christ’s Hospital and £5 in 1679 (Christ’s H. TAB, 12819/10, 211, 862). He carried out carving work at the Guildhall, City of London, including its chapel, for which he was paid £81 19s in October 1671 (City Lands Comm Papers 04/1). He can perhaps be identified with Richard Cleare.
