Biographical Details
The son of Thomas Collins of Warwick, he was apprenticed to John Dunckley of Warwick in 1726 (TNA I.R. 49/79). Around 1750 he carved a stone vase for Lady Luxborough (1) and he carried out similar work for William Shenstone at the Leasowes (Letters of Lady Luxborough to William Shenstone in Gunnis 1968, 111) (2). He was for many years mason to St Nicholas, Warwick (Ch W Accts).
