Biographical Details	He may be related to ‘Mr Henry Ashcroft, of Liverpool, stonemason’, who died in 1810 at the age of 70 (GM, 1810, 2, 493). Ashcroft signed a large wall tablet to Thomas Hewitt at Rostherne, Cheshire (1). He advertised from the Byrom Street Marble Works, Liverpool, in September 1819 that he had chimney-pieces fitted up in his showrooms, and ‘monuments of every description executed and designed; sculpture and modelling by artists and workmen of the first abilities’ (Liverpool Mercury, 17 September 1819).
