Biographical Details
He carried out wood carving of the highest quality at Pembroke College, Cambridge (1). The wall ornaments incorporate swags, cartouches and naturalistic elements. He also provided carved work at St John’s College, King’s College Chapel, Emmanuel College Chapel and Trinity College, all in Cambridge. He employed a small workforce, lived in the parish of All Saints and owned a large inn, ‘The Cardinal’s Hat’, in Trumpington Street. He appears to have been succeeded in business by a son of the same name around 1704.
